Universal Studios, Singapore

Of course, I wouldn’t miss the opportunity to visit Universal Studios, one of the most famous theme parks, when I was in Singapore. I had a blast and so did my sister and my mom. I felt like a kid, wanting to see every single attraction and wanting to take a picture with the famous characters around the place. I took quite a lot of pictures (If only I can post all of them haha) but most of all, I enjoyed myself.

Me and Charlie Chaplin! Full Universal Studios post later! :)

Had some film rolls developed today! The sprocket rocket scans were a failure (damn that Kodak woman) but I really liked my AE-1 shots. I’m going to Singapore tomorrow and I’m bringing my film babies with me (and of course my trustworthy DSLR too)! Can’t wait to explore SG and take lots of pictures! :)

I haven’t been posting much but I’m so happy right now I need to share it with you guys! My Sprocket Rocket just arrived in the mail and it’s the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on (and it’s in my fucking favorite color too). I cannot wait to burn my stock of film rolls using this beauty! Excuse me while I rack my brain for the perfect name for it and continue to ogle the new addition to my camera collection!

Saturday nights are my favorite. Last week, I spent my Saturday night at Sidebar 1771’s relaunch party and had an absolute blast. I was invited by Kuya Rudstin and I eagerly accepted, knowing that it was a chance to finally get out of my gloomy room and socialize a bit.

Entering Sidebar, I immediately felt comfortable with the its vibe. I loved the interior, the dim lighting and the all in all atmosphere of Sidebar. I also noticed the good tunes they were playing (I was almost convinced they investigated what my all-time favorite songs were because I swear most of them played that night hahe) and again, that contributed to my delight about the place.

I met a lot of new people and really had fun talking to them. Of course that’s not all I did though. Half the time, I was savoring the sweet amazing taste of Sidebar’s food. I’m no cook or culinary extraordinaire. But as a regular foodie, I can attest that Sidebar’s food was very very delicious. The New Sisig Experience was my favorite. I enjoyed the taste of the classic sisig wrapped in soft tortilla and I especially appreciated the avocado uniquely mixed in it. Then of course, there was the Pulled Pork Slider that tasted as heavenly too. I think the barbecue sauce was perfect with the pork rump. The other appetizers were really good too.

The night couldn’t have been more lively without Sidebar’s fantastic drinks. The drinks were made by Ms. Lani, who was Sidebar’s awesome bartender. I was fascinated with the unique flavors she came up with like the Oyster Shooters, which is by the way an oyster with alcohol! How cool is that? It’s definitely a must-try. There was also the Mojito Punch, which is a great drink if you’re looking for something light and refreshing. My favorite drink was the Sidebartini, Lemon Drop. It’s vodka but it gives you just the right kick. It gives you a delightable rush with its ambrosial taste.

Remembering last Saturday night makes me wistful. I only hope I can visit Sidebar again sometime soon, maybe even bring my besties along with me. Sidebar is indeed the perfect place to go to for Saturday nights and all other nights in a week. ;)
